Electrical Engineer III

Here are some of the key responsibilities, skills and qualifications we would like to see:

  • Responsible for the design of power supplies as well as the development of new & existing electrical power conversion & power management systems.
  • Support Sales Department in review and development of proposals for projects involving power systems and power electronics equipment, often with limited or non-existent reference designs.
  • Identify, specify and select components typically used in power applications.
  • Develop and enhance standardization, productivity, reliability, maintainability, cost reduction initiatives.
  • Review product compliance to company standards, customer requirements, industry standards and regulations.
  • Modifying and evaluating existing designs, electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry.
  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, design suitability, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Worked with AC/DC and DC/DC medium low voltage switch mode power supplies utilizing various circuit topologies.
  • Interpret customer and marketing requirements for new or modified products.
  • Coordinates the activities for PCB, mechanical design, documentation, safe agency approvals and release of designs to manufacture.
  • Responsible for root causes analysis on products and technical problems.
  • Prepares user related documentation relative to technical design of products and components.

Skills

  • Must have knowledge of schematic design, PCB design, trouble shooting, specification development, wiring diagrams,technical manuals, and written instructions. Experience with EMI/RFI attenuation a plus.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot AC and DC Power Supplies, Inverters, UPSs and Power Distribution Systems to the component level.
  • Must be able to analyze and test new designs, methods, components and circuit topologies with a focus on Design for Manufacturability.
  • Proficient in the use of meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and thermal chambers.
  • Able to write test procedures and develop test fixturing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, EXCEL, ACCESS, PCAD is a plus.
  • Able to delegate and manage a team of engineers and work across disciplines in cross functional teams. Able to communicate effectively and develop professional relationships with peers, colleagues, and customers.

Education and / or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Physical Science with 3 to 7 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using relevant CAD and/or simulation software with three to five-year experience using applicable industry standards.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Familiarity of MIL-Standards for afloat, ground, and airborne environments.
  • Experience with Uninterruptible Power Systems.

Skills Required

  • Proficient at reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and written instructions.
  • Able to troubleshoot to component level Power Supplies, UPS systems, and Power
  • Distribution Systems, analog and digital circuits.
  • Experienced and familiarized in the use of all types of electronic Test equipment,
  • Meters, Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Experienced in maintaining detailed and accurate equipment documentation records.
  • Familiarity with analog, digital and network circuitry.
  • Ability to work efficiently in an ISO 9001 Quality environment.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word.

Additional skills:

  • Experience with the use of thermal chambers, power, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience building test fixtures and cables.

Solder Technician

We are looking to hire a solder technician with experience in surface mount and thru-hole soldering to IPC-610 (Class II, Class III) ANSI J-STD-001 or equivalent standards and has an awareness of ISO 9001:2015. Knowledge of basic electronics and/or electronic testing experience is a plus.

Manufacturing of our products includes but not limited to:

  • Assembly of prototype and low volume production of PCB, and Box builds to standards. SMT / Thru-hole soldering using Tin/Lead and No Lead solder. Have knowledge of SMD and Thru-hole components, and the masking, conformal coating, de-masking of PCB’s.
  • Able to use drawings, manufacturing process notes, photos, and other written or verbal instructions, for the manufacturing of Box builds. This includes Sub-Assemblies, Bonding, Wire routing, Cable, and Harness assemblies, to the complete Box build, using a verity of tools.

Job Duties

  • Store, manage and track company documents and data.
  • Scan, image, organize and maintain documents, adhering to the company’s document lifecycle procedures, and archive inactive records in accordance with the records retention schedule.
  • Assist managers develop and maintain documents such as meeting minutes, drawings,
  • specifications, approvals, and related items.
  • Maintain configuration control of all controlled documented information.
  • Chair the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and process Enterprise Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Periodically train employees on records management procedures and policies, which include documentation, retention, retrieval, destruction, and disaster recovery.
  • Assist with file migrations and audits, and perform administrative tasks as needed.
